What's New at The TV MegaSite--From Suzanne

Rather than putting every single thing that is updated on our site, here is our "To Do" lists, including what has been done lately.  And then that way you will know what has just been done, and what will be done, as far as major changes on the site. 

We already have Volunteers who run our sites for Port Charles, Passions, Battlestar Galactica, House, and  Heroes, so you can expect that those sections will be  more updated, as well as our daily soap screencaps, recaps, updates, and transcripts. We also have people who host our forums every day.  So, this site is constantly updated!

Daily

  1. Run transcripts for CBS Soaps, primetime shows, and backup on all transcripts.
  2. Make screencaps for AMC, OLTL, ATWT, GL, B&B, and Y&R.
  3. Write in TV blog.
  4. Do Passions transcripts by hand and write Passions updates.--not been good at this.
  5. Write soap updates and recaps as needed for backup--not been good at this.
  6. Oversee site, managers, and volunteers in general, mostly via email.
  7. Put up primetime news and other content from volunteers

Weekly or as needed

  1. Send out most of the soap scoop newsletters
  2. Deal with any issues that crop up during the week from volunteers or put up link changes, articles, etc.
  3. Fix/update important things as I come across them.
  4. Review excel sheet (list of volunteers)
  5. Send e-cards for volunteers' birthdays and anniversaries

Monthly

  1. Make Volunteer of the Month certificate and mail it.
  2. Update site map as needed.
  3. Gather contest entries, pick winners, notify them and send out prizes; add new prizes and make new contests.
  4. Update primetime current links.--not been good at this.
  5. Put up new polls--not been good at this.
  6. Post for help
  7. Update current primetime show pages, esp. spoilers

Ongoing

  1. Fix yellow script boxes
  2. Finish fixing Amazon ad links.
  3. Build new series sections.
  4. Add rest of new links for Primetime Current Links (sports and music) and check links.
  5. Post for more CM's, proofreaders, article writers, forum hosts, and primetime volunteers
  6. Add more soap links, starting with official actor links
  7. Rebuild and update Classic Primetime Links pages--started this but did not finish
  8. Send out more Q&A's to soap stars.
  9. Write missing updates from past.
  10. Make sure transcripts and other older pages are properly linked at the bottom to the other pages (updates, appearances, etc.) and no broken links
  11. Add contact info to all shows
  12. Update all stores and check links on them.
  13. Update and double-check all keywords on pages.
  14. Fix up on primetime transcript pages.
  15. Put new items in Cafe Press.
  16. Update actor pages.
  17. Find more webrings
  18. Send for more autographs
  19. Get links from Favorites
  20. Find more stuff to sell for all shows
  21. Write remaining character descriptions
  22. Make more fanlistings pages for all shows
  23. Make sure fave.ico is in every directory.
  24. Finish episode guides.
  25. Redesign Anna Lee site
  26. Go through old SOD's for pictures etc.
  27. Check all pictures; go through whole site to find any other problems.
  28. Put bottom (footer) info on all old updates/transcripts/recaps
  29. Build soap-scum site.
  30. Make more wallpapers if needed
  31. Make artwork for site (drawings)
  32. Put up more screencaps for Police Squad and other shows with screencaps
  33. Organize all pictures and get rid of old ones.
  34. Make text version of site.
  35. Redo banners (update)
  36. Update Soapsgirl pages.
Boo's To Do List (Operations Manager)

Daily

  1. Oversee other managers and site.
  2. Run transcripts for ABC Soaps.
  3. Make any graphics as needed.

Weekly or as needed

  1. Update credits pages
  2. Update bios
  3. Contact new proofreading volunteers

Ongoing or monthly

  1. Post older screencaps for BB, ATWT, GL, OLTL and Y&R.
  2. Search email for more missing updates and transcripts.
  3. Keep tape trading pages updated

Thane (Volunteer Manager)

  1. Update excel sheet (keep track of what everyone does)
  2. Invite new people to forum
  3. Keep track of who has not turned in work lately and who has gone to the forum or not
  4. Remind people via email who are not turning work in, or who are not going to the forum, or who are not turning in bios and pics
  5. Contact new people to welcome them and ask them for bios and pics

 

Gisele (Daytime Manager)

Daily

  1. Puts up all daytime  transcripts, articles, best lines, updates, recaps, proofreading, wallpapers, animations, casting news, appearances, links, etc. that other volunteers send in.
  2. Check to make sure updates, recaps and transcripts are up M-F and proofread them.
  3. Proofread AMC transcripts and choose AMC best lines.

Weekly

  1. Keeps track of which Best Lines are done.
  2. Make new pages for transcripts, recaps, updates, and best lines (Sat. and Sun.)
  3. Scan the Internet for casting news and TV/movie/live appearances by any present or past soap star and update every daytime soap's cast and appearances pages as needed.

Ongoing

  1. Putting daytime subpages in newer design.
  2. changing htm pages to shtml
  3. updating keywords

All Content Managers:

Ongoing

  1. Keeping main page updated
  2. Updating news & spoilers (primetime only)
  3. Keeping cast, birthday lists, appearances, and links pages updated.
  4. Writing character descriptions, articles, etc. - other content.
  5. Finding new links
  6. Gathering pictures.
