CTU Agent Jack Bauer works to stop the assassination of presidential
candidate David Palmer. Meanwhile, Jack's wife and daughter are
kidnapped by the people plotting the assassination; President Palmer
deals with his fA.M.ily crises and breaks up with his scheming wife; CTU
Agent Nina, also secretly working for the bad guys, plays her lover Tony
against her ex-lover Jack.
After his wife's death, Jack is called back into the CTU to help find a
bomb that has been planted by terrorists in L.A.; George Mason is
contA.M.inated by radiation and dies a hero's death, detonating the bomb in
the desert. Jack's daughter Kim tries to get out of L.A. before
the bomb goes off, but instead, she goes from one terrible dilemma to another.
Jack and a woman nA.M.ed Kate grow closer as they evade terrorists and try
to find proof that the bomb was planted by conspirators in the U.S., not three
Arab terrorists. Meanwhile, the vice president
conspires to unseat the president and bomb the Arab countries while Jack
races against time to stop it.
As Jack Bauer prepares to stand before the Senate sub-committee, another
threat to national security is looming. Bauer is called upon to help the
FBI capture the suspected culprits – one being the presumed-dead Tony
Almeida. Bauer’s patience is wearing thin as the day continues. Facing a
deadly prognosis (biotoxin exposure) and stunned by a friend’s betrayal,
Jack’s fate is uncertain as season seven comes to a close.
