ABC entertainment president Paul Lee was not encouraging when asked about
GH's future. The soap may be canceled to make way for Katie Couric's new talk
show debuting this fall. "We'll have to make a decision at some point, but I
don't know when," he remarked, adding, "We have not made a decision and we do
not have a time frame for that."

Jack Wagner (Nick, B&B; ex-Frisco, GH; ex-Jacques, Sunset Beach) was reunited
with his biological daughter, Kerry, 23, in Boca Raton, Florida, on November
17, 2011. Before a concert with fellow GH alum Rick Springfield (ex-Noah),
Kerry approached him backstage and revealed that she's the daughter he'd given
up for adoption in the late '80s. She showed him a photo of her biological
mother, whom the actor recognized. The next night, Jack invited Kerry on stage
with him and revealed to the audience that he'd "been" with her mother back in
the day; the woman then called him nine months later to inform him that she'd
had his baby, but was giving her up for adoption. Kerry was raised in a foster
home, then hired a private investigator to find her biological parents. Jack
also has two sons with ex-wife Kristina Wagner (ex-Felicia, GH): Peter, 21 and
Harrison, 16. Jack and Heather Locklear announced the end
of their engagement.
To make the Daytime Emmy nomination process fairer in 2012, NATAS (The
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) has instituted some changes.
There will no longer be a limit of 2 actors from each show who can submit their
name in the pre-nomination process in each category. Therefore, everyone will
have a chance to be considered for an award, not just the most well-known
actors. Also, judging pre-nominees hopefuls will take place online. The top 10
pre-nominees from each category will be announced on March 2, 2012.
Shelly Altman is now co-Head Writer of GH and will work with current Head
Writer Garin Wolf. She has previously worked on OLTL and AW among other
television projects.
Emmy-winning writer Michele Val Jean has left GH after 18 years to join B&B's
writing team. She also wrote for "Santa Barbara" and "Generations."
Sean Kanan (Deacon, Y&R & B&B; ex-AJ, GH) has written "The Modern Gentleman: Cooking and Entertaining with
Sean Kanan" -- a guide with plenty of good advice and tips for today's man.
While appearing on Y&R, Sean's on a book tour, so check out his schedule at

ABC Daytime President Brian Frons declares he's optimistic about the
future of GH "at the moment." "I think the cast is terrific. I think Garin
Wolf, our new head writer, is doing a wonderful job bringing
characterization to the forefront and finding nuances in the characters that
we haven't examined for a while, so I'm feeling very positive."
