GH premiered on April 1, 1963 on ABC set in Port Charles, New York
GH's longtime Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps has been replaced with
OLTL's Executive Producer Frank Valentini as of January 9, 2012. Also, OLTL's
Head Writer Ron Carlivati is replacing Garin Wolf as GH's Head Writer.
GH celebrated its 48th birthday on April 1, 2011. It is now the
longest-running soap on the air.
