Shawn-Douglas Brady was born on April 6, 1987, to Bo and Hope Brady.
In 1990, Shawn and some friends were playing by an oil site and Shawn
fell into a pipe, which resulted in him losing his hearing. Shawn and Dr.
Carly Manning became friends and she taught he and Bo sign language.
Eventually, Shawn regained his hearing.
In 1992, Bo was set to marry Carly and Shawn was thrilled. He became
friends with Nicholas Alamain, Carly's son. The wedding never took place.
Hope Brady returned to Salem in 1994. At this time she thought she was
Gina Von Amburg. She eventually remembered who she was and reunited with Bo
and Shawn.
In 1997, Shawn got caught up in a drug deal at school and got shot. He
was rushed to the hospital and he recovered from his injuries.
In 1999, Shawn came back from boarding school and snuck into his
grandparents’ pub. Shawn Sr. and Caroline Brady were shocked to see the
teenaged Shawn.
In 2000, Shawn and Belle tried to figure out where Hope was when they
discovered that Princess Gina was posing as Hope. During Bo and Gina's
wedding, Gina went onto a rooftop and almost shot Shawn off the roof, but
thanks to Marlena he was safe.
Eventually, Gina died and Hope returned to her family. In June 2000, Hope
gave birth to Shawn's little brother John Thomas, "J.T." Brady. Little did
they know Lexie Carver's father Stefano switched Lexie's baby, Zack and J.T.,
and each mother had the wrong baby.
Shawn went to the Last Blast dance with Belle and Mimi. Here, Chloe Lane
almost got chicken blood poured on her but Philip ended up getting it.
Shawn and Belle became close over the years. When they went on a school
trip in 2001 and kissed passionately, they came close to making love but got
interrupted. Later, they exchanged purity rings and made a vow not to have
sex until they were married.
In 2002, Shawn and Belle found out that they 'shared' a brother, J.T.
since John Black 'fathered' him. Soon after they learned that it was a
misunderstanding. Belle and Shawn had another misunderstanding when Shawn
posed as Jan Spear’s baby's father, to cover up her getting raped.
Eventually, the problem was solved and Belle and Shawn got back together.
Shawn is much like his father, Bo: a real hero. If he has any faults,
it's that he likes to protect people a little too much, even if it means
risking his life or keeping them in the dark, especially Bo. Shawn is
assisting the police department in finding the Salem Stalker.
Shawn and Belle have been together for several years. They began their
relationship as teens and are now in college. They have faced many obstacles
but survived them all.
