Jeff Trachta Press Release
“JEFF TRACHTA – LIVE!”
- A ONE-MAN SHOW WITH A CAST OF THOUSANDS - TO BEGIN A LIMTED ENGAGEMENT AT
THE RIO ALL-SUITE HOTEL & CASINO IN LAS VEGAS
Las Vegas, NV, September 27, 2006 -- International recording artist, actor,
impressionist and comedian Jeff Trachta, best known to over 450 million
viewers worldwide as Thorne Forrester on CBS’s The Bold & the Beautiful (a
role he played for over eight years), brings his one-man show, Jeff Trachta
Live! to Las Vegas for a limited engagement beginning Sunday, September 24,
2006.
Billed as “a one-man show with a cast of thousands,” Trachta’s show is an
explosion of pop culture classics creating a jam-packed 60 minutes of
singing, dancing, music, impressions, comedy, and multi-media elements that
are sure to take audiences on a wonderful trip down memory lane.
“The show is a culmination of everything I’ve done on stage since the age of
five,” laughs Trachta. “I love music and comedy, so of course I had to fit
it all into this show.” A huge influence for Jeff has been classic
television variety shows. “My show is a combination of The Carol Burnett
Show and The Tracy Ullman Show - with singing, dancing, impressions,
original characters and comedy.”
A popular stand-up comedian and impressionist, Trachta has received rave
reviews from critics. The Los Angeles Times says, “Trachta is hilarious!
Whether doing one of his spot on impressions or singing a heartfelt ballad,
he is superb. Trachta displays a vocal versatility to rival the late Mel
Blanc.”
Las Vegas audiences will get to experience some of Jeff’s favorite voices
from the world of both contemporary and legendary comedians (Larry the Cable
Guy, George Burns, Joan Rivers) to politicians (Presidents Bush, Nixon, Ford
and Reagan) to the world of cartoons (SpongeBob SquarePants, South Park,
Family Guy and Popeye). In his tribute to Classic TV, Jeff does 50
rapid-fire impressions of his favorite characters from All In The Family,
Bewitched, Gilligan’s Island, The Honeymooners and The Andy Griffith Show,
among others.
Music fans are also in for a treat. Trachta includes unforgettable tunes
from various eras of music including Motown, Gospel, Standards and Pop.
Beatles classics and hits from Billy Joel and Nat King Cole blend with some
of today’s pop music phenomenons. (His tribute to N’Sync & the Backstreet
Boys - complete with his impression of Simon Cowell in an American Idol
moment - is sure to leave audiences howling.)
And if all of that weren’t enough, Jeff also treats the audience to some
gorgeous renditions of classic songs such as “Love Me Tender” and “Nature
Boy.” “So much of my show is doing different voices and characters, but I’ve
made it a rule to sing as myself,” explains Trachta.
At six-feet-three-inches tall, the handsome, blonde-headed, Trachta is sure
to turn heads just by standing on stage. However, the multi-talented man
sees this show as a tremendous opportunity to showcase the talents that are
not visible upon first glance. “I have always considered myself a character
actor trapped in a leading man’s body,” admits Trachta. Not that he is
complaining. Those looks combined with his talent have landed him starring
roles on Broadway, television & film, and on concert stages.
Jeff is most recognizable to fans from his role on The Bold & the Beautiful
(which is broadcast to over 100 countries around the world). Singing on The
Bold & the Beautiful led to an exciting international recording career. His
debut album Bold and Beautiful Duets, soared to the top of the European
charts and was the first of Jeff’s three albums, all of which have achieved
triple platinum sales worldwide. He has also performed sold-out concerts in
stadiums and arenas around the world from Holland and Italy to India,
Germany and South Africa.
Jeff made his Broadway debut starring in Tommy Tune’s revival of Grease. His
award-winning one-man play Agency received rave reviews and won the Los
Angeles Critics Choice Award. Other stage credits include Phantom of the
Opera; Bye, Bye, Birdie with Rue McClanahan; Little Shop of Horrors; and
Cinderella, with television legends Steve Allen, Jayne Meadows and Rose
Marie. In addition, Jeff has played opposite some of the comic greats of our
time including Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, Carol Channing and Robert Klein.
Jeff’s television roles include Pamela Anderson’s international hit V.I.P.,
guest-starring roles on Comedy Central, and the ABC soap operas Loving and
One Life To Live among others.
