sad only a few were filmed and none will be seen."

Unable to resolve their "mounting issues," Prospect Park has decided not to go forward with the
relaunch of AMC online at this time.
AFTRA, the union that represents actors on AMC and OLTL, states that it "was
deeply disappointed to read that the executives at Prospect Park have decided to
suspend their efforts to produce the long-running and popular daytime serials,
'One Life to Live' and 'All My Children,' via online distribution. Despite
initial progress in our negotiations with Prospect Park toward resolving a fair
agreement to cover the performers appearing on these programs, we were perplexed
and disappointed that for the past month Prospect Park has not responded to our
repeated inquiries to resume those discussions. We now conclude from the press
reports that Prospect Park faced other challenges unrelated to our negotiations,
which prevented continuation of those discussions. We remain hopeful that an
opportunity to revive these two popular series will emerge in the future, and
remain ready to resume discussions should that opportunity arise."
J.R. Martinez (Brot) won the prized mirror-ball trophy on ABC's "Dancing With
the Stars" Season 13 with his partner Karina Smirnoff on November 22, 2011.
J.R.'s heroism as a severely-wounded soldier in Iraq landed him on the cover of
People magazine's 11/7/11 issue. People also named him one of 2011's sexiest men
alive. At 28, he is planning on writing a book about his experiences.
Lindsay Price (ex-An-Li Chen Bodine; ex-Michael, B&B) and Australian chef
Curtis Stone had a baby boy named Hudson on November 6, 2011. They moved into a $3.1
million mansion in the Hollywood Hills together in April.
Jacob Young (Rick, B&B; ex-J.R., AMC) states that his
role on B&B is short-term and he is open to returning to AMC
online.

Speech
After almost 30 years on AMC, Michael E. Knight (Tad) says good-bye to his soap star
life in an article

interview by Michael Fairman, in which MEK reveals his contract negotiations
status.
Y&R has hired All My Children's Daytime Emmy-winning
casting director Judy Blye Wilson. She had hoped to continue on with AMC but
never heard an offer from Prospect Park.
Mary Fickett (ex-Ruth Parker Brent Martin) died on September 8, 2011 at her
home in Callao, Northumberland County, Virginia. She was 83. She appeared in the first
episode of the show in 1970 and made her last appearance in 2000. ABC plans to
dedicate the September 21 episode of AMC to her.
In her new memoir "All My Life" out September 13, Susan Lucci (Erica,
AMC) includes an emotional chapter on the subject of AMC's cancellation. Written
before Prospect Park announced its plans to continue AMC on the Internet, Lucci
reveals how she found out that Brian Frons was poised to make the announcement
and vents her anger and frustration with what she views as a series of bad
decisions made by Frons that squandered the daytime institution she'd called
home since 1970. "There's little doubt in my mind that this plan must have been
in place for some time," she writes. "One big question that keeps me up at
nights is, "Did Brian Frons have this on his agenda when he moved the show to
L.A.?" Lucci also lets loose for the first time about AMC's ex-head writer, "If
Chuck Pratt's intention was to come on board and mess with the history and
integrity of our show, I believe he was successful in his efforts."

Lives will take AMC's place at 8 p.m., as well as midnight & 7 a.m. OLTL will
air at 9 p.m., 1 a.m., & 9 a.m., GH at 10 p.m., 2 a.m., & 8 a.m., and Y&R at 7
p.m., 11 p.m., & 10 a.m. Older episodes of AMC, OLTL, and GH will air at 3 a.m.,

Chuck Pratt, AMC's former head writer, doesn't have many fond memories of his
time in Pine Valley, but he does recall "when we did the tornado and we dug
through the rubble and instead of finding Kendall, we found Bianca. That was a
moment. It was a great moment to be a part of. Our ratings went up, and I was
attempting to get a younger audience with the show, and it gelled for a while
but then it didn't really, in the end, work out. It was sad. I was sad to go,
but I left behind a lot of good writers and I think we did a good job, but it's
unfortunate how it all turned out."
J.R. Martinez (Brot) was interviewed in the AFTRA (American Federation of TV
and Radio Artists) Magazine's
Summer 2011
issue. On page 26, you can read all about the land mine that changed his
appearance and his life, his role on AMC, and his future as an actor and
motivational speaker.
